PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains how Ôdyzzey ("we", "us", "the Site" — odyzzey.co.za) collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit our site or buy from us. We are a South African business, and we handle your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Ôdyzzey is the "responsible party" for your information under POPIA.

The short version: we collect only what we need to run our store and deliver your order, we never sell your personal information, and you can ask us at any time what we hold about you.

What we collect and why

When you browse the Site, we automatically collect device information — browser type, IP address, time zone, cookie data, the pages and products you view, and how you found us. We use this to make the Site work properly on your device and to understand how the store is used so we can improve it. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies below).

When you place an order, we collect your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, and payment information. We use this to fulfil your order: processing payment, arranging delivery, sending your invoice, order confirmation and tracking reference, screening for fraud, and contacting you about your order. Where you've opted in, we also use your email address to send you news and offers — you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any marketing email, and we'll only market to you in line with POPIA's direct-marketing rules.

When you order a personalised item, the names, dates, or messages you give us for printing are used solely to make your item.

When you contact us hello@odyzzey.co.za, we keep the correspondence and any information you share so we can help you and keep a record of the query.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers who make the store run:

  • Shopify, which hosts our store and processes orders (Shopify's privacy policy)
  • Payment providers, including Payflex and Payfast who process your payment securely — we never see or store your full card details
  • Courier partners, who receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your order
  • Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Meta/Instagram advertising tools

We may also disclose personal information where the law requires it — for example in response to a court order or other lawful request.

Some of our service providers (such as Shopify) store data on servers outside South Africa. Where your information is transferred across borders, it is protected by contractual and legal safeguards consistent with POPIA.

How long we keep it

We keep order and invoice information for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting purposes (generally 5 years), and account information until you ask us to delete it. Personalisation details are kept only as long as needed to produce and support your order.

Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or updated, to have it deleted (where we're not legally required to keep it), to object to processing including direct marketing, and to withdraw consent you've previously given. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@odyzzey.co.za — we'll respond as soon as we can, and at no charge for a standard request.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device that help the Site work and help us understand how it's used. We use: essential cookies (cart, checkout, and login — the store can't function without these) and analytics cookies (Shopify's built-in analytics, which show us how visitors use the store) . Most last between 30 minutes and two years.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings (allaboutcookies.org explains how), though blocking essential cookies may stop the cart and checkout from working. Because there's no industry standard for "Do Not Track" browser signals, we don't currently respond to them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The "last updated" date at the top will always tell you when it last changed.
